You live or work a few blocks from the surf lagoon at 19th and Pacific. You already know the Oceanfront is changing fast. What you probably have not found is an orthodontist close by who will do more than look at your crooked teeth and hand you a price.
Maybe you have already sat through a consult somewhere. You left with a quote, a treatment length, and a quiet feeling that nobody actually explained why your teeth moved in the first place. Or why your kid snores. Or why your jaw clicks every morning.
Here’s the thing. Crooked teeth are usually a symptom. At Coastal Orthodontics, Dr. Pardeep Kaur starts with the cause, because a result built on the cause is the one that still holds up when you are 40.
Why Atlantic Park Neighbors Drive To Great Neck Square
Our Virginia Beach office sits at Great Neck Square, at the corner of North Great Neck Road and First Colonial Road. From Atlantic Park, it is a straight shot: First Colonial Road north to Laskin Road, then west past Hilltop. Most people make the drive in about 10 to 15 minutes.
That matters for a reason beyond convenience. The people moving into the apartments, offices, and restaurants around Atlantic Park are a mix of working adults, young families, and folks who have been in Virginia Beach their whole lives. Their orthodontic needs are not one size.
Dr. Kaur trained for exactly that range. She earned her DDS and her three-year orthodontic certificate at the University of Illinois at Chicago, then completed a fellowship in Cleft Lip and Palate and Surgical Orthodontics at Case Western Reserve University. Today she also serves as a craniofacial orthodontist for Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, where she treats cleft-affected infants and coordinates care with ENTs, sleep physicians, and oral surgeons.
So the case another office calls complicated gets solved in a neighborhood office fifteen minutes from your front door. That is the whole point.
Diagnosis First, Brackets Second
Before Dr. Kaur places a single bracket, she reads your airway, sinuses, jaw, and bite using full CBCT and 3D imaging. Not because the technology is impressive, but because you cannot fix what you never looked at.
Around 2020, after roughly seven years of straightening teeth the conventional way, she pursued her surgical and craniofacial fellowship. Her words: that actually changed the way she practices. She stopped thinking about teeth and started thinking about causes.
She says it plainly. When she sees a patient at 7, she wants to see them at 40 with no relapse. That standard shapes every plan that leaves this office.
And when room is the problem, her first question is whether expansion can create it. Using MARPE and arch expansion, she keeps natural teeth in place about 99% of the time whenever expansion can do the job instead of pulling permanent teeth. More room for the tongue. Fewer regrets later.
Orthodontic Services Available Near Atlantic Park
Every treatment below is planned by Dr. Kaur herself, at the Great Neck Square office, for kids, teens, and adults.
Early Orthodontics For Kids Ages 7 To 12
A narrow arch, a crossbite, or a thumb habit is easier to correct while a child is still growing. Our early orthodontics visits look for the cause behind what you are seeing, and sometimes the honest answer is that we watch and wait. You will always know why.
Teen Orthodontics
Teen years bring growth, sports, and schedules that do not bend. Our teen orthodontics plans account for jaw growth and breathing, not just tooth position, and your teen will understand their own treatment well enough to explain it to you.
Adult Orthodontics
Nobody is too old for this. Adult orthodontics here often starts with a complaint that has been brushed off for years: a bite that never felt right, jaw pain, poor sleep, or teeth that drifted after old treatment.
Braces Near Atlantic Park
We use custom 3D-printed braces, shaped to fit each individual tooth, along with clear braces for patients who want something less noticeable. You can read more about how custom 3D-printed braces work and who they suit best.
Clear Aligners
Removable, washable, and easy to live with. See how clear aligners fit into a plan that still treats the underlying cause.
Invisalign
Invisalign means no brackets to work around at dinner, no wires poking during a workout, and a tray you can take out for photos or a big presentation. Dr. Kaur plans it with the same diagnosis that guides every other case here.
Craniofacial And Surgical Orthodontics
For cleft lip and palate care from infancy and for bites that need jaw surgery to truly correct, Dr. Kaur plans and coordinates craniofacial orthodontics with trusted oral surgeons from start to finish. One orthodontist stays responsible for the whole arc.
Oral Appliances For Adults Who Could Not Tolerate CPAP
CPAP is the gold standard, and if you could wear it, you should. But if the mask has been sitting in a closet for two years, that does not mean you are out of options. Dr. Kaur builds a custom, putty-free oral sleep appliance, coordinated with your sleep physician.

What Patients Say After Treatment
Alex came in after being told his options were limited. Expansion was the answer nobody had put on the table. His review says it better than we could: he can finally breathe properly for the first time in his life.
Kayla’s case was an adult jaw correction that needed surgical coordination, planned and carried through end to end. Victoria came in with TMJ pain that had followed her for years.
Common Questions From Atlantic Park Patients
How far is your office from Atlantic Park?
About 10 to 15 minutes by car. Take First Colonial Road north from Laskin Road to the Great Neck Road intersection, and you will find us in the Great Neck Square shopping center at 2140 Great Neck Square. Parking is free and right out front.
My child is only 7. Is that too early to see an orthodontist?
Seven is the right age for a first look, and looking does not mean starting treatment. Dr. Kaur checks how the jaws are growing, how the airway looks, and whether a habit is pushing teeth out of place. Sometimes the plan is simply to monitor growth and check back, and we will tell you that honestly.
I already had a consult at another office. Is a second opinion worth the drive?
It often is, especially for complex cases. Dr. Kaur reads the airway, sinuses, jaw, and bite on full CBCT and 3D imaging before recommending anything, so a second look here is a different kind of look. Many of our patients arrive after one or more consults elsewhere.
Will my teeth have to be pulled to make room?
Not usually. Dr. Kaur uses MARPE and arch expansion to create space first, and patients keep their natural teeth about 99% of the time whenever expansion can do the job. Extraction is a last resort here, not a default.
Do you treat adults, or mostly kids?
Both, and adult cases are a real part of this practice. That includes bites that were never corrected, jaw and TMJ complaints, surgical coordination, and sleep appliances for adults who could never tolerate a CPAP mask.
Can I get Invisalign near Atlantic Park?
Yes. Invisalign trays come out for meals, brushing, and photos, which makes them easy to live with for working adults and busy teens. Dr. Kaur will tell you honestly whether aligners can deliver the result your bite actually needs, or whether another approach fits better.
